set foot: to go to a place.
Example: Americans were the first ones to set foot at the moon.
colleague: one of a group of people who work together.
Example: Engineers, biologists, and physicist are colleagues at NASA.
mankind: the whole of the human race, including both men and women.
Example: Setting foot at the moon was a small step to mankind.
peace: freedom from war and violence, especially when people live and work together happily without disagreements.
Example: Peace has been obtained thanks to the collaboration of other international space explorers.
security: protection of a person, building, organization, or country against threats such as crime or attacks.
Example: There is top security at the International Space Station.
lock someone up: to put someone in prison.
Example: If someone gets in without authorization, security will lock them up.
spy: a person who secretly collects and reports information about the activities of another country or organization.
Example: His colleagues have accused him as a spy.
grass: a low, green plant that grows naturally over a lot of the earth's surface.
Example: Grass is not growing in the moon.
cornflakes: small, thin yellowish-orange pieces of dry food made from crushed maize, often eaten with milk and sugar in the morning.
Example: Austronauts cannot cornflakes when being on space.
insect: a type of very small animal with six legs, a body divided into three parts and usually two pairs of wings, or, more generally, any similar very small animal.
Example: Insects cannot live outside the atmosphere.
broccoli: a vegetable with a green stem or stems and a mass or several masses of flower buds at the top.
Example: Many people don't ike eating broccoli.
confused: not clear and therefore difficult to understand.
Example: People are confused about the explanation on astrophysics.
fail: to not succeed in what you are trying to achieve or are expected to do
Example: Apollo 1 failed its mission.
dizzy: feeling as if everything is turning around, and that you are not able to balance and may fall down.
Example: Some astronauts feel dizzy in zero gravity.
space shuttle: a vehicle in which people travel into space and back again, sometimes carrying a satellite or other equipment into orbit.
Example: Astronauts travel in space shuttles to the International Space Station.
cosmonaut: an astronaut from Russia.
Example: Cosmonauts were the first ones to get to space.
apologize: to tell someone that you are sorry for having done something that has caused problems or unhappiness for them.
